Hey all,
I have a Silvia which I got in 2007. Recently, I noticed the boiler was leaking so purchased a new boiler gasket. While I was shopping I also got a new "chrome" plastic cover (I'm sure you know which bit I mean - covers the group and is surprisingly cheap and tacky compared to the rest of the machine).
I have successfully changed the gasket but couldn't see how to get to the screws for the plastic cover thing without completely removing the boiler, which seems a bit excessive!
Was I missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

you could remove the plastic cover without removing the lower grouphead from the boiler it is a little tricky after removing the 2 screws inside you can flex the stainless steel plate slowwlyyyyyy and the cover will put into place
