Here is a simple water level indicator I built. Parts List: Radio Shack Project Enclosure #270-1801 Radio Shack 9V Snap Connector #270-324 Fry’s Linrose Flasher LED #452829 Lowe’s 3/8" x 5' 160 PSI PEX Pipe #184720 Lowe’s Watts 1/4" x 1/8" Plastic Quick Connect #15118 Zoro Tool Madison M8000 Float Switch #G2923024 9v Battery (Click for larger image)

Nice idea, indeed.. What about using three AAA cells in a tubular battery holder that would also serve as a lifting handle for the lid and thus making it less bulky as well as shorter? Not being critical- there are plenty of folks I know who would be considering bluetooth and an iPhone app add-on! ;-)

I managed to figure everything out, construction wise, except how you attached the Pex pipe to the enclosure, and enclosure to lid.... I suspect a food safe compound of some sort?
