With a coping saw, I cut a roughly circular piece out of an old 3/4" thick cupboard door. Sanded the edges until it would slide nicely into the deLonghi basket, around 49mm dia. Stained the edges for that 'pro' look.
The solid steel handle provides the heft. For those of you with motorcycle interests, it is the bar end weight from a Suzuki SV650, polished with sandpaper by chucking in a drill. Glued and screwed to the wooden base.
