So I just replaced the hot water pipe going from the steam boiler to the hot water valve. My machine triggers the GFCI when I plug it in, even with both switches in the off position. I talked to one of the guys at Chris' and he thinks it's probably just due to something being wet inside - as one spills a considerable amount of water from the steam boiler during this repair. I spent about 15 minutes with a blow dryer, but that hasn't worked yet. Hopefully, that just means it's still wet where it matters.
I was very careful with the wires and have double checked all of the connections.
If anyone has other thoughts, I'd love to hear them.

yeah, the GFI was triggering as soon as I plugged it in, even with the switches in off mode. So since my first post, I went up and shaved, took a shower and then came back down and tried it again...whoohoo! All is well. This sense of accomplishment feels damn good!
