I'm new to CoffeeGeek.com. I just bought a Gaggia Classic machine and I'm trying to mod the steam wand with something else. I looked the forums but cannot find any firm solution about this machine. Let's say, if I get this one http://www.espressoparts.com/R_1054 . Will this fit for the Gaggia Classic?

Yes, that will fit the Classic. Just bought the exact one.
It's a direct replacement, except you need to swap the nuts. That nut on the silvia wand is too big. You need to take the nut off the wand that is currently on your Classic and put it on your new silvia wand.
Also, the silvia wand end that attaches to the machine is slightly too big, this will cause it to be very tight and won't swivel very well. So just take some sand paper and sand the end a little. The pipe diameter is the correct size, I just think they use a little extra chrome plating making it slightly thicker.

To get the nut off the Classic wand do you really have to bend or break it like I've seen in a YouTube video? And to confirm, is it the Silvia v2 or v3 wand that will work on the Classic? Thought I read somewhere that the v3 version won't work.

I just did this a few months ago. The part listed in the opening is the exact part and dealer that I used. I also viewed the videos of cutting the old wand to remove the nut. My Gaggia is about 6 months old, and on that new model there was no cutting. Swap nuts and it fits. Mine fit with no mod and swivels without difficulty. I believe that there is an O ring up in the Gaggia end that seals and the nut is not particularly tight or difficult to remove. A very easy mod.
