I'm looking for a new or used Faema E61 Grouphead... not spare parts - a complete grouphead...
Does anyone have an address where I can get one of these? or maybe someone has one to sell?
For what you may wonder....
Custom Coffee Machine ;)
As mentioned in another post, I'm a machinist by trade and of course thus have all the equipment like milling machine, lathe,... to get something like that done. Got a few specific ideas... but would like to build it around an existing, proven grouphead.
Boiler will be machined from copper (thick-walled tube 8-12mm and two screw-on caps.. custom machined... this way it's easy to clean / descale if I have to... much easier than with a completely soldered boiler). integrated fuzzy-logic PID controller (neatly hidden though).... Pressure-Gauge and Pressure control from the OUTSIDE of the machine ... here I'm yet pondering wether I'll want some sort of a mechanical lever which would allow to adjust the over-pressure valve on the go... and thus allow to take a huge influence on the brew... or if just want a turn-knob design to make it easy to adjust... this one probably is a complete custom part.
As the boiler will be a complete custom job, I'll include a water-tight sealed port for the Thremocouple-sensor INSIDE the tank... so it really measures water temp and not just outside boiler temp.
Case & other parts from thick stainless steel...
highest quality pump... not some cheap thing.
Not sure if it'll turn out amazing, good or bad... but it's something I had on my mind for some time. and as a lover of custom things in general, well that would be a neat addition.
Aehm, I guess you did not get what I was after - I am about to BUILD MY OWN machine... I know vibieme and most of the others ;) and I simply want to fill some spare time with the building of a custom coffee machine.... so I'm not looking for an entire machine, just a E61 Grouphead.

OK... A Vibiemme E-61 GROUP then... I got it.. you didn't.
Take a look at one. The top gicleur cover and the lever retaining piece are both held by socket head screws and very easy to get access into those areas for service. It is massive and has proven to have excellent thermal stability because of it's mass.

Well - I wouldn't mind the vibieme group head - they are good after all ;)
but my question remains: Where can I get an individual group head - not an entire machine.
So far browsing the web has revealed a thousand sources for all kinds of spare parts, but no one seems to be selling the actual group head individually, and I highly doubt that vibieme will sell me just their group head? or what do you reckon?
Maybe I'll hit a few of the coffee-repair shops during the next few days to see if anyone's got a broken machine with an intact grouphead to give away or sell.

Look for European distributors. Shipping on something that massive from the states, if you could get someone to post it to you, would be expensive. It would also get the attention of customs when they X_ray your luggage! ;-)
FInancially, utour best bet might be to look for an older machine, like a Vibiemme jr. which might also be a good donor for other parts you may need.

Thanks... but that's just spare parts... I need the grouphead not the spares. the actual forged or in some variations cast metal body, possibly with the valves and stuff - but not necessarily as those are easy to source... it's the "body" though that's hard to find.

Ah, that's more like it ;) THANKS A LOT!!
I'll still make a tour through some of the local coffe-repair-shops and see if anyone got something for little money... but in case there's nothing good or nothing at all, now at least I know where I can get a brand new one...
again, thanks a lot... that was the missing component for my project to come... (It will take a good while before I build everything as it's strictly a spare time / dead shop time project and thus unfortunately has not much of a priority besides my "real" work... but none the less, I hope to get it done before the year is gone...)
