I'm no expert on HX machines, but I thought the differential between the heat of water passing through the boiler and that arriving at the brew head depended in part on minor losses while travelling along that pipe you just insulated. Mightn't this make the temp at the brew head just a bit hotter, requiring a change, maybe, in your boiler offset? Or your cooling flush routine?

Honestly, I really don't know. I would be interested to know if someone had any experience with this? Because if it does I will gladly remove it and will only keep it on the boiler.

See how it goes. The loss of heat from the group should keep the thermosyphon moving but if it seems to be affected you just need to remove the insulation on the lower line to keep it a bit cooler than the upper line.

After you mentioned thermosyphon I started reading about it and I prefer just removing the insulation from the pipes to make sure that process goes well. I will keep the insulation on the boiler, I dont know if its just me but I noticed a significant change in the time it takes the machine to heat up. It takes a lot less time!
