I purchased a V2 wand to mod my Classic. My question is, when I replace the Silivia fixing nut with the Gaggia nut do I also need to install the metal washer that is inside of the Silivia fixing nut? The wand works fine - great steam, no leaks so far. However, I was wondering if eliminating the washer would improve the lateral mobility of the wand as the washer may push against the top of the wand, causing overtightening. Or is the washer necessary to prevent the wand from leaking? FYI, I sanded down the Silivia according to the advice found on CoffeeGeek.
