My father-in-law gave me a Briel ES150 (or maybe ES150-PG) espresso machine that he has never used, and now I'm trying to extract some good espresso using that machine. I think it is quite similar to Lido... I was having problems to extract coffee with a (converted to) non-pressurized double filter (the one on the left) because I was trying to use 15g of grinded coffee. With your review, I noticed that this machine uses less than usual amount of coffee for a double: "10- 12 gram". But in this post, you said you have used 16g. I'm a little confused about that. I know it was 1 year and 7 months ago, but can you help me with these quantities? Does it vary by using stock converted NP filter to Saeco NP filter baskets? What is the amount of liquid extracted you have in that cup?

Not AndyPanda, but he has not logged into the site for 1 yr. The review that you referenced gave a hint at what he does, temperature control. Here is thread that explains more about the thermometer and how to use it.
Those threads are about Gaggia, but similar for temperature.
As a general rule you need to fill the basket so that the wet expanded puck just barely touches the screen center, or is just below. Of course the only reference you have is to just touch. Some say that if you fill the puck with dry coffee and then add a nickel on top that the nickel should just touch the screen with the coffee dry. Sorry, I cannot give you a coffee weight as I do not have those baskets.
