Craig, The over temp electric control is still there and connected but there is no way for excessive steam pressure to leave the system as would be the case with the stock configuration of the OPV.
EDIT: Anything over the set point of about 9 bar in the stock configuration, can empty to the drip tray by pushing open the OPV, As my OPV is before the boiler, not T'd in after so to speak, the pressure can not reverse flow through the OPV to the drip tray, it is trapped in the boiler, thus the need for the safety device. I did forget that safety though, thanks for reminding me about that. Gosh, I only had my hand on it about half a dozen times in the last month and a half!
