Subject: Request: Compak k10 Parts for Rebranded Wega Max 6.8 Conversion to Doserless

I was able to get great deal on a Wega rebranded K10 Conic http://www.compakgrinders.com/en/productos/020102.htm. I would have preferred a fresh, but I just could not pass up on this deal when it came up. So I jumped in with the hope that at some point I could modify or convert to doserless or in the worst case deal with managing retention. Worked directly with Tom at Wega USA who made me a deal I could not refuse. I spoke with him on the phone placed the order and had the grinder in less then 2 days.

I have been searching for any information on a possible factory type conversion to doserless but not having much luck. I can't imagine I am the only one to have considered doing this. My ultimate goal is to find source of information and/or parts that could be used from other Compak grinders for a close to factory level finish to convert to doserless. Most of the search results for modifications are for the doser sweeper or chute mods to the non autofill version. Since this specific grinder has an autofill switch in the finger guard located within the doser right above the chute the chute mod is not possible without removing the switch. I have been searching for information on how to remove or disable the autfill so I can at the least remove the finger guard and not finding anything. I did get some advice for doing this on a non Compak grinder but it is not quite the same.

Beyond the basic mods to help manage grind retention. I was wondering if the k8 or k10 front panel/doserless parts would fit this version. The size seems about right but I can not confirm.

Given that this machine contains the wiring for the autofill switch which essentially controls the grinding power I assume, that if the parts fit that I may be able to leverage the timer features built into that panel. I am not sure on this but this if this is possible that would be a perfect conversion.

If anyone has a good source of parts and information that would be greatly appreciated.

If I do manage to get this done I will post the details so that other can benefit.
