I have the Auber PID on my Silvia and I think the offset is nowhere as high as I've seen reported. My Auber came set with a default external boiler temperature of 225F, if I remember correctly, and at that temperature, I got steam out of the group when trying to pull shots. It was worse than the default thermostat on my old V1 Silvia. I've been using 216F as my my setting for years, and it makes great shots. I generally go for lighter roasted single-origin beans. A degree higher for darker beans would probably work well on my setup, but I don't get them often.
