I have had my Livia 90 semi-auto for about 6 years now. I was originally having a problem similar to PhilosoGeek's. The machine would turn on, heat up and come to pressure fine, allow me to pull a few shots and then I could hear the pressure switch click off and it would lose pressure. Would have to let it sit for several hours before it would work again.
Now I flip the switch and the orange light on the power swith comes on, but not the larger orange or green lights.
I'm kind of a parts monkey. In reading through posts here, I concluded that my best bets were PStat, Solenoid valve, vacuum valve or the CPU. I ordered PSTAT, solenoid (STILL on backorder since late August), and vac valve, as well as the probes that enter the boiler from Pasquini USA. Installed all of this except the solenoid which is backordered. Still had same symptoms and worked intermittently for another six weeks. Now it won't do anything. No sounds, heat, or lights except for the one on the power switch. I've cleaned all the electrical connections.
Any suggestions on where to look next? Is there a better price out there than the $265 that Pasquini wants for the CPU? From the description does it sound like it could be the solenoid? Thanks Steve

Inside the "brain" module, there is a transformer which is prone to overheating problems. When it fails it turns off the green light and the boiler will never cycle on (orange light), although your power light will still come on.
I don't know if this is your problem, but it's worth a try. I had the problem you are describing on my BZ99 (internally the same as the Livia 90) several years ago and I replaced the transformer with Spitznagel part #D78609, which fixed the problem. I don't remember what it costs, but I bought two so it couldn't have been that much. I installed more insulation between the brains module and the boiler and I haven't had any problems since.
When my pstat went out a few months ago I installed a PID. I would highly recommend that modification if you are so inclined.
I don't think the solenoid could possibly create the problem you are describing unless it is somehow shorted, and even then that doesn't seem likely.
