Looks interesting but just a consideration if you are retro fit to a vibrating pump unit silicone hoses will not hold the pressure so you will have to replace them with s/s braided or copper etc etc will be nice to get a sample one from fluid-o tech i see what i can do

Bit confused...while I use braided hose on both, my vibe pump puts out ~160 and is regulated at the opv while my hx rotary is regulated at the pump pre-hose at ~135 psi. Why would the rotary need stronger hose?

Greg Scace has a lot of experience using one. I've got one sitting on my workbench downstairs, but haven't installed it yet A certain famous barista in London is reputed to be using one as we speak.

Network Crasher asked "Anyone have any experience with these?"
Some basic information on the TMFR series is available here: http://www.fluid-o-tech.com/ - see their PowerPoint presentation also. Don't forget to take into consideration the size of the control module (inverter).
The TMFR series is also available from Depco Pump Co. here in the US.
A potential problem with this series is that the control module has a 50 degree C limitation so internal installation would be a little touchy. You may be able to buy a unit direct from FOT (USA) but it is relatively expensive - ~$375. Then, if you are going to do variable pressure profiling like Greg S. admirably did, add in the cost of a pressure transducer and a controller for the FOT control module - about $300.
That said, FOT deserves lots of credit for bringing something like this to the marketplace. I can only hope for the day when I'll be able to program an EEPROM in the FOT module via a PC and build whatever pressure profile I want.
Get out those wrenches Andy S. - we want to read about your adventures.

Got a Procon off eBay with a 1/3hp motor (that's HUGE) for a nice price. It's a 1 series Procon flange mount, and it seems that while it will work in the motor I received, but I'd like to locate a smaller motor. I figure a 1/4hp would be plenty. The SPA motors on espresso parts look really nice, but pricey at over 200 bucks. I just came across this Flojet though.. Anyone ever try it? It's called a triplex and will get over 10bar...
I'm not sure if it's considered a rotary, but the motor would suggest so. I wonder if it'd work.. The specs show that it'd work for espresso. Seems interesting anyway.
