To early to tell if all my shots will be god shots now, but it just makes good sense to get that massive hex head screw head out of the puck.

I was cleaning the group with JoeGlo and decided now was the time to go after it with a countersink bit. Countersunk the piece above the screen and used a vise to press the screw to seat the screen. 20 minute job. I'll report back on the effectiveness.

George

Swell, please do as this is one of the high ranking minor (major) headaches nagging at all Silvia owners!
Very cool. Though their must be a flat, like sized screw that one can find at a local hardware store.

Thanks!

Seth

Here's the poor mans press that formed the screen into the countersunk piece using the new M5 x 12mm countersunk head screw:

And ... these are the pieces just before the pressing:

A philips head screw tucked right up in there, too. M5 x 12mm stainless steel again.

Sure is a big difference from that first pic. My only concern is I was getting used to seeing the screw head imprint to tell if I was getting full puck expansion. Ironic, huh? We'll see how it goes. :)

Wouldn't it also work to further countersink the dispersion piece and then just mount it all back to the group and let the new M5 screw form the dimple in the screen?  I'm just mentioning that if someone doesn't have the equipment to press as you did.  Might work that way.

Edit - forgot to mention nice work...you'd think they should just come that way from the factory.
