Yes after  a look the water is definitely stronger on the right with a minimal amount coming out of the left. A clean of the dispersion screen is in order I think and a quick look at the piston.
Thanks I was referring to the portafilter basket but as I was on the cleaning tip I though I'd cover all bases.

I think you'll likely find grease above the dispersion screen, but if not that perhaps a mass of coffee grinds or something else.  Luckily the La Pavoni is quite easy to service!

Yesterday I noticed my La Pavoni was getting a little hard to move the lever when it was cool, so a quick pop out of the piston, wipedown of surfaces and cleaning of the dispersion screen and 10 minutes later is was newly greased and back together.  Now lever again moves with ease even when cool.
