Subject: Breakdown (?) of Elektra micro-leva

Suddenly my Elektra micro-leva, which I’ve had and used almost every day for the past 12 months, refuses to heat up. The red light indicating electrical contact goes on, but the one that shows that the water is warming up remains dark, and the pressure gauge stands at zero. When I release the lever nothing but a few drops of water comes out of the brewing head.
It is possible that I may have left the machine on for a few minutes after the boiler was emptied from the last two cups; in any case the water level was very low. I immediately filled the boiler and tried again. But the water in it remains cold.
Is it likely I can fix this myself?

Replying to my own post.
Problem solved. I checked the user’s manual. It advises poking a stick through “the hole”. I did that (assuming they meant the larger of the two holes in the bottom). The machine seems to be working OK again.
