The thing that makes the Pompeii stand out is the repeatability of great shots.
Each and every shot is the same as the one before. The shot I make early in the morning will be the same as the one I make late at night.
The Strega is very much capable of producing great shotd but the consistancy of the Pompeii  makes each and every one of my shots a great shot.

Are you saying you can walk up and pull a shot without any need to temp surf or flush?  That would definitely be a plus.  How is the noise of the pump? Excessive heat because of the larger boiler?  Build quality?  Thank you

]No needs for flushes indeed.
The machine is built like a tank.
The Pompeii doesn't have a pump.
Sadly enough it,s pretty big.
Maybe too big for some home users.
Here,s a pic with my old Strega.Click Here (i143.photobucket.com)

That's a great picture of both machines and a nice view!

The latest Pompeis now have a white backing on the power switch and a wire drip tray as opposed to the solid ss with holes. Pretty minor changes.

I've no experience with the Strega but hear good things about it. I have a QM Achille and Pompei in my shop and have pulled many good shots from both.

Can you share your reasons were for moving to the Pompei?

How will anyone want to compare the Strega with a Pompeii?

The Pompeii is a full scale commercial machine which is almost twice the price and it's HUGE!.
The strega itself is as wonderful as it is for a smaller community
