Subject: Europiccola EPC-8 And Starbucks Question

I have a La Pavino Europiccola Millenium model that has a green metal Starbucks Coffee medallion in place of the La Pavino medallion.
My assumption is that Starbucks must have carried or sold this machine for a short period of time.
I have had no luck finding out when this was as most of the stores I ask don't remember ever seeing the machine.
Does anyone ever recall seeing the unit for sale in Starbucks?
The Starbucks emblem isn't a cheap decal but a solid metal logo.
Just curious as to the Starbucks/La Pavoni realtionship if any.

Hi, Al -

A manual espresso machine seems to me to be a complete misalignment with the "quick and easy" nature of Starbucks' clientèle.  If I were betting, I'd bet that the emblem was on something else originally.

That said, the Starbucks website has carried higher-end machines for a while.  You might check there.

Thanks, I did check but turned up nothing, also since my post I removed the bottom plate and checked the date which was Nov 2007.
I did get one store  manager saying that he thought they were not sold to the public but a few were once given to employees as long term awards.
Either way not a big issue, just a little bit of curiosity about the unit I have.
Though I will add that I have a tendency to agree with your statement about the average Starbucks clientèle.

These machines were given to employees for 15 year service. They were not sold to the general public. I have one of them in my personal collection of La Pavoni's. (13 total for now)
