So as of today there are no importers or dealers in the USA?  I understand, but wading through the bureaucracy to find the info is about as interesting as jumping off a very tall building just to see what happens!

I will wait until you have some dealers here in the USA to try one out :-)

I do like the size of the machine and for home usage it really fits the bill in that regard.  As a suggestion, put a rod style drip tray cover, like the Vivaldi II by La Spaziale, on it. They work very well and stay super dry and clean on the surface.

I am looking forward to seeing your machine marketed in the USA!

hi stephen

ah, i've clearly misled you somewhere.  we are located in London, England, which is where the demonstration machines also are at the moment

so, im not in a position to advise on USA import duties and taxes

i will make enquiries with our courier this week and see if i can obtain a list of the charges for customers in the USA so there are no unexpected additional costs for you

the service we use is a premium door-to-door service so you don't have to get involved with the Border Protection agency or any of those guys & it arrives in just a few days

kind regards

reiss.

Reiss:

Is there anyone in the Seattle area that has one of these fine looking machines so I could "Kick the Tires" so to speak???

I am considering selling my LM GS/3 MP.

You might try writing him directly because he has not responded in a few weeks. I expect he is very busy.  I wish he would send coffeegeeks one to try out... I would love to give it a hands on myself.

Folks, these machines are only being sold DIRECTLY through Londinium.
This is final, so I'd advise contacting Reiss directly.

FWIW, I have one on order, and I'm happy to report duty fees or any other experiences when it arrives.  I did need to tell my bank the order wasn't fraudulent :)

I feel your pain.  I've been reading Reiss's blog for a while now.  Love to see this machine in action.

Redpig, I would love to hear what you think and maybe some shots or videos of what it looks like in your home.  Also, please keep us updated on how you feel after you have had it a while.  That means a lot to hear what you think after the honeymoon is over.

I'll do what I can! I'm hoping it'll arrive just before Thanksgiving *fingers crossed*.  If there are any particular requests, I'm happy to try to field them.

The area I'm most concerned about upfront is the difference in recovery time for the 110 volt version. I expect double the warm up time, but I'm _really_ hoping that steaming and general shot-to-shot consistency is as solid as Glenn recorded in his review over on CoffeeForumsUK even though the element is half the wattage.   I suspect it will be (based on my surveying similar watt-to-liter machines), and I'll get to be concerned about all sorts of other things (like it being my first lever machine), so we'll see!

Will, welcome to the CG Forums!
I've also been keeping up with the L1 thread at HB.

There are several of us Tennessean's who would be more than happy to bring our home roasted espresso SO's and blends to your L1 "welcome home' party!!!!

For purely scientific reasons, of course. :>D
