I fried the element on my Pavoni, and see that the one on my machine does not exactly match either the 2- or 4-post elements on sale over the Internet. I think mine is a 2-post, but it has what I think is a fuse in the center of the base. Is it normal to replace one like mine with the one that doesn't have the fuse(?) in the center? If so, does that mean that there is a modification to be made? Also, the ones I see on the net have what looks like a grounding bolt sticking out, whereas my machine has a grounding screw on the base of the boiler. Am I correct that I can ignore/cut off the bolt on the new one and just use the ground on my machine? Here is a picture of mine while attached to the machine. Any help you guys can give will be appreciated.

Yours is the older version of the 2 prongs (which is to be use with the pressurestat such as your unit) but they stop making them in brass/copper some years ago so you option is the new style stainless steel one
safety thermostat (and some thermal grease) shorter screws o-ring style gasket and possibly a new p-13 copper pipe might be needed if you cannot remove or reposition yours without damaging it
