During today's compulsive browsing for somebody on craigslist selling something for 1/10 of what it's worth, I came across an ad for this Visacrem lever machine.

I'm not about to spend (even if I had it) the $5k the seller's asking, but I find myself wondering, "What the heck is that big glass thing on the right of the machine?" So, I figured I'd post the photo here and ask, what the heck is that big glass thing on the right of the machine?

Thanks for your deep and abiding knowledge of such espresso esoterica.

Looks like someone added (A) a french press, or (B) a milk frother!
Send that pic to Doug at OE. You KNOW he'll have the answer.

'Course, the HB'ers lever guys will know for sure.

Beats me what it is.
Shoot, only 5k? LOL
I'll take 2.

There was a thread on HB a while back.  I think it is called a hotel group, and used to brew a large amount of coffee at once.

I'd love to ask Doug directly, but I don't think I have a current email for him. I think he took down the doug@... address because it was taking too much time away from doing actual, you know, work.

Ryan - many thanks! I kinda figured it was something like that. I'd dearly love to see one in action, but not enough to shell out 5 grand.
