Anyhow, Scace is nice, I have not used it, but it is not same as what I was doing. I was using thermocouple in bed of 15.5 grams of coffee. Real coffee, real basket and everything. Just as we all do to make espresso. This is as close as you can get to actually find out temperature coffee is exposed to. Scace is not same as brewing with actual coffee. You have to replicate the conditions you are trying to measure exactly if you are going to measure them properly. Scace is shortcut but unless you make your espresso like that, is not same thing.

I got tired of the ugly and impossible to read temp strips. This $20 Bios thermometer mod is so much better! Stuck to a thin strip of metal and tucked in under the top cover so I can return back to stock if I wish (one of my mod criteria). Other end stuck in an invisible fashion to the group with metal dryer tape. Much cleaner look.
