Subject: La Pavoni Europiccola

I have had a Euro for quite a while now. I am at the point I need to strip it down for seal replacement which is no great shakes - done it before. However a question - it is a pre 2001 model (which I have upgraded with a pressure gauge by taking the upper sight glass mounting from a pro) Does anybody know if the new anti vaccum valve has the same valve seat as the original versions? I have had a look at the parts list and it appears to be a different part number to the standard valve seat (I replaced the ball bearing previously with a teflon version due to leakage and constant pressurestat cycling - it worked on the same seat after a light burnishing now operating at about 2 bar with no undue leakage at 0.9-1.1 bar). My understanding is that the valve operates as the unit cools and opens the boiler to atmospheric pressure. Will this stop the lever lifting (which is my intent - it frightens the cat).
