I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their advice--gaskets, gaskets, gaskets!--about firing up a very old La Pavoni. Changing out the piston gaskets made ALL the difference. There's certainly a learning curve with these things, but starting out with a properly working machine sure makes a difference. Thanks again! - matthew
