I finally got the consistency right!

Some things I did.

-let the machine warm up

-kept cup warm

-used crystal geyser water

-poured shot before steaming milk

-Used 12 oz. pitcher

Tasty latte as well. Cheers!

If you don't mind me asking, what did the 12oz pitcher do for you?

This was recommended by another user on CG. Not sure it was a factor, considering everything I did differently.

I'm going to try this with my other pitcher.

i ask because i've heard if you're steaming for single drinks, 20oz pitchers -- like the one I have -- is overkill and actually blunts the ability to prepare microfoam with 4-5 oz of milk. Don't know if that's true, or whether a smaller pitcher aids the process for that amount of milk.

My Gaggia's crap frothing wand makes good soap.
