Hi everyone, I recently purchased a second hand k30-es which i'm delighted with. I understand there is a 'barista mode' on the grinder so i can manually grind without a preset timer. I can't get this on my grinder and by searching online it seems I can do a software update on the grinder? If anyone can shed some light on this that would be great, and how to do it would be even better.

Part of the problem is the cord needed for the firmware is a very odd cord I would have to order. They would rather sell you the board to install at over 100$ So far they said they would provide it for me to do, but they have not sent me anything but a PDF. They are not as customer driven as Bratarza.
Buying advice: GRINDER GRINDER GRINDER. Don't cheap out on the grinder.
What cord do you need to do this update?Since this has been going on for quite some time, the answer is probably "misericorde."
In all seriousness though, I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's either not doable as a straight firmware update, or only doable by a Mahlkonig tech. Since email seems to be a dead end, and phone is almost always better for this sort of thing anyway, I suggest someone give them a call. I'd do it, but I'm not an owner.
