My Baratza Vario  won't grind fine enough for machine, it used to but hasn't in the last few weeks.  I have taken the bur out and cleaned it so it is like new, also tried to calibrate the bur, but the motor changes pitch while still at two on the right side and half way up on the left.  No matter how much I turn the adjuster, I can't change this to be less fine.

I also just tried grinding set at the finest and coarsest setting, and there is no difference in the grind.  Is it possible the levers have come loose inside?

Did the 2.5mm socket head screw under the rubber plug loosen? If it is, the lower burr will move around. Baratza customer service and their site can be helpfull

yes I've done what the video suggests, still no change.  I did notice that the 2.5mm allen key is tight, but the entire piece of metal it attaches to can shift around about a 1/4"  This can't be right?

Either call them or email them.  If you have had it less than a year it is under warranty.

There are other things you can try but I think contact with the manufacture should be your next step.
