Stepped grinder? This should be interesting. Where's the popcorn?

That was my first reaction.  But reading this:

We use a 1mm fine thread pitch between the burr mount and the burr collar. A single rotation of the burr mount results in vertical travel of 1mm.With 75 holes in the locking ring, and 25 pins on the collar, this gives the user the ability to change the vertical travel of the burrs in 1/75 or 0.013 millimeter increments.

Returning to a known setting is now repeatable, plus the locking ring is now very secure and cannot drift.  Without using it, I don't know how the 1/75th mm actually reacts in practical use, but it sure sounds like minute adjustments.

It would be nice to hear from current owners of the HG One, and their thoughts / observations.

As an owner of the first generation HG-ONE
The new model seems really great, the only concern will be the stepped adjustment.
I know 2 guys who have got the new model with TiN aftermarket burr, will ask for their opinion about their new toys :)

Any 2014 HG ONE owners have comments of the stepped adjustments on the new grinder?

This is just my personal observation here. I am by no means saying "do not post links to HB or other sites" or saying anyone should stop doing that. The purpose of these forums I built back in 2002 was to share information, be it on this site, or any website.

But I see this from time to time... a thread starts here about a product, someone goes "oh, here's a discussion over on so and so site" and poof. Discussion dries up here.

I wish, sometimes, members here would just have the discussion here. I don't mind driving traffic to HB or other sites at all (and based on our logs, we drive a lot of traffic Dan's way), but personally, these redirects don't sit well with me. I'd like to see the information and discussion shared here more, instead of, for lack of a better word, "hijacked" the moment someone posts a link saying "hey, the's more info over there..."

Anyway, just a personal observation. I'm only upset that it kills convo here, not upset so much about the HB linking. Anyway, carry on.

Mark
