No, I understand that I need to run the grinder to adjust. But, does it matter if I have beans in the hopper or not?

if I weigh out my whole beans every time (single dose) then grind should I add 2 grams more for adjustment or could I adjust without beans and then add my weight amount of coffee to the hopper at the correct grind setting?

sorry, I know i am making this more confusing for everyone and myself.

Oh.. no I don't. I single dose as well. I just grind, and if any adjustments need to be made I adjust with the grinder on, then put the next dose in. These grinders have low retention too, on light/medium roast I've usually seen damn near 0 grams retained. On darker roast which can clump more, like a half gram-gram sometimes, I weigh the bin container with it's weight tared out. Like today it said 15.3, I tip the grinder forward a bit and purge a few times, and it then said 16 on the spot.
