Just the other day I could adjust the grinder with no problem. I regularly change it between 8 and 30. But I noticed it getting more difficult to adjust, and eventually it just stuck. This happened over the period of 1 week. So I decided it needs a good old cleaning. But I am not able to remove the upper burr. It won't budge even a millimeter at this point. It is currently stuck at 30.
I've seen many people having problems with this, but never a solution for how to solve this problem.
I have tried using the hopper as a lever to apply more force. I have also tried heating up the burr using a hair dryer. Nothing has helped the slightest.

If the problem is contamination in the threads from coffee grounds and oils setting rock solid, you need a food safe solvent to get things moving again. I would thin Simple Green to a water consistency and apply into the threads, grinder UNPLUGGED of course! Once it moves at all, start working it back and forth until you get it apart. Clean everything and then clean your grinder more often so it never gets to this state again. Click Here (industrial.simplegreen.com)
