I have both. Ive since upgraded and am looking to get rid of them though. Anyway, the i1 has a review on here somewhere where its compared favorably to a Mazzer Mini and a Rossi RR45. I found it well suited to espresso and built quite well. Clumping is negligible, grind is consistent. The burr carriers are brass and some other metal, I would guess stainless steel, so they ought to stay solid. However, the doser is flimsy, and doesnt stand up to thwacking over time. Aside from the afterthought of a doser, its solid. The i2 uses Trespede conical burrs, which are mounted in resin. This worries some people but I see no real trouble in it, and it has held up equally well, except for, again, the doser.
