Dear community,
Last week, I've purchased a second-hand Rancilio Silvia, after using a pressurized portafilter machine for a couple of years. As I expect miss Silvia to not be as forgiving as my old machine, which is the joy of it, my manual grinder is no longer sufficient. However, while having read a lot on grinders, I have a hard time deciding which one to buy. A grinder is fairly large investment for me considering my finances, therefore I would like to get some input from you.
My considerations: I will not be brewing a large number of espressos a day and, if I'm not mistaken, this favours a doserless grinder. As I would like to experiment, I would also favour stepless (i.e., micrometric) adjustment to be able to optimize the grind. (I already have a 0.1g precision scale for the dosage.) As an addition, a timer would be a plus, as I think it allows my girlfriend to brew an espresso without worrying to much whether she got the dosing right; something she can be very stressed about. A last important consideration is that the grinder should last a while, I will not be upgrading in a while.
Currently, I'm looking at a Compak K3 Touch, a grinder that fits my considerations above.
Do you think this could be the grinder for me? Is it a decent grinder? Do you have other recommendations? Any advice on this matter will be considered helpful, but you'll be my hero if you include a reason/argument for your advice.

Thanks for the input. I'll check out the Baratza/Mahlkoenig Vario, I've read a lot about it here on these fora. It is a bit more expensive than the K3, but on the other hand, I don't plan on buying a new one for a while. I hope my local dealer is carrying it, as they've helped me out a lot in the past and that's worth some loyalty. The Iberital is a bit cheaper, so that's good budget-wise, but I think I'll have to import it; a quick search did not reveal any Dutch resellers.
