Hi all,
I have the offer of a 3 year old WEGA grinder for a really good price. My only concern is that it is 3 years old! Has anybody experience of these grinders and should I be concerned about the age?

Many if not all are compak rebranded. If you post pictures it might help a bit. If it is a rebadged compak 3 years would not concearn me only price and model
You know those people that want to tell you how to raise your kids but have none of their own? That is how i feel when someone with a kitchen appliance tells me how the merits or dis-merits of my machine or how to use it.
3 years is not in itself a big deal. If the condition is good then the most a 3 year old Compak (k6?) needs is new burrs and a good cleaning. The reason Mazzers are such a big deal is that their build is so tough that it's not unreasonable to buy a 15 or 20 years old SJ and only have to replace the burrs. I've rebuilt a '96 Compak K6 that worked really well. I would not say that Compaks are as durable over a decade+ in the same way that Mazzers are, but 3 years is nothing in the used commercial grinder market.
