Hrrmm, maybe i'm reading the calibration .pdf incorrectly, but from the documentation it says:
Hold the adjustment ring steady while rotating the windows to change your calibration. Moving the windows to the left makes the unit coarser; moving them to the right makes the unit finer.
While the image shows the windows all the way to the left is the finest grind.
Is my comprehension out of wack?
I have my Preciso set exactly as it is in the image, and again dialed to 1A is still too course for espresso.

My normal response is to call Baratza, but from reading your posts, you know that trick. It is the weekend.
As you know, that is the finest calibration, so, that may not be the problem. I would look at a couple of the other adjustment troubleshooting threads. Could the ring have come unglued? Is the machine cleaned and the burr seated all the way? There are a couple of other troubleshooting guides on grinding.

Thanks for the info and input. It seems I did do everything correctly and nothing else seems to be out of place.
Looks to be that this machine just isn't doing a good job for my espresso unfortunately. I will certainly contact their support again, but to be honest, i'm now eyeing off a Mazzer Mini.

For all having trouble, check the ring around the upper burr. Is there a crack ? If so, it needs to be replaced (free) and your problems may be over. Referring back to the OP, I seriously doubt anyone could get a 25 second shot, let alone a GOOD TASTING 25 second shot from a blade grinder. I Just don't. Sorry.
BTW, to all, PLEASE, whenever adjusting your grind finer with beans in the hopper, 3 beans or 300, ALWAYS run the grinder.

If there are beans then you must run to go finer, and that seems to mean that you are tossing what comes out as a mixed grind. I think that if you are having trouble, I would dump the hopper and then pulse the grinder and clean it out, then adjust running or not. In practice I run it dry, pulse, adjust, pulse, and then use it. I guess the extra pulse is to assure that it is clear and running freely.

Best, not sure, but it works. I believe that if you want to adjust it with beans in, then you must adjust finer while running and I find that a pain. I could sometimes use another hand, and then there is still the grinds generated while you are adjusting.
