For less than 100.00 for the kit and a new set of burrs I have a great grinder. I had to make it step-less because all the adjustment (for espresso) is within the last two settings. I have it set to choke at full fine and one number back is a gusher. It seems to hold adjustment when set and is very consistent going from full course to drip and then to espresso. I can't really tell much difference between the Vario-W and what I have now except pulling shots take twice as long and of course the mess. Taste wise and fluffiness seems the same. The ability to turn the knob and make real changes consistently is a real big plus.
