It seems to grind finely enough and works great for my Krups Gusto 880 (which makes remarkably decent crema laden espresso). The Maestro has some shortcomings but its grind seems consistent and I'd hate to back bench it. It has 40 steps like the newer ones.

A thread with the same question and answer. It works if you happen to get a setting, but the steps are large and "grind consistency" seem to be inadequate.
Does a Baratza Maestro grind fine enough for a Gaggia Classic?
