When should change out the burrs in your grinder. I've got a Cimbali Junior which I've had for 2 1/2 yrs and I grind between 2 - 4 pounds a month. I run some Grindz through it every 3 months. Once a year I'll take out the top burr and clean out the teeth with an utility knife blade to get into the grove of the teeth and wire brush them also.

Well, that is hard to say but you have only about 225# through it at the top end of your guesses. This isn't really a lot for a good burr grinder. If you feel the edges of the burrs, will the edges catch your fingernail? If so the burrs are still very sharp. If they feel sharp but will not catch a nail, it is time to think about changing them and if they feel dull and have chips in the edges, they should have been changed LONG AGO!
