I was attempting to clean everything in my Capresso Infinity burr grinder and I can't get it to work right now. I removed the torx screw in the lower burr and removed the bottom unit to clean all parts. I found three springs and three balls that are supposed to allow some flexibility in the system. I put it back together as I have found, with the springs and the balls on top and tightened down the screw on top once more. Now, I cannot even get the upper burr to fit properly and the hopper to engage. Previously it was engaging but every grind was coming out too fine with no adjustment. Have I ruined the unit for good or is there a way to fix this? Thanks for any help.

I did a similar thing with mine. I called Capresso and spoke with one of the tech guys. They were incredibly helpful and were familiar with my problem. They walked me through the steps to fix it.
This happened over a year ago and I've since upgraded to a Baratza. Nothing against the Infinity... it's a great little grinder and had no complaints. I just wanted to upgrade my grinder when I purchased an espresso machine.
Anyways, try giving them a call.
Also, depending on where you are located, you could take it to their main location (if you are in Toronto) or I seem to recall that they also have a number of licensed dealers who can do service work.
Good luck... I don't think you broke you machine though! : )
