I stopped at a light and heard my trunk open then slam closed. I just had to see what happened so I pulled over into a parking lot and opened the trunk myself and this is what I found!
Two SJs (in box) and two Majors. Gosh darn it, I HATE it when that happens!

Ron, yes they will find new homes, Craig, yep, didn't really have enough spare cash to buy them (leaving on vacation in 2 days) but I just could not let them sit there and look so forlorn.
I just hate it when I find stuff that needs a good home at a price I just can't walk by!

I am not sure of what I intend to do or keep, I now have 3 SJs,3 Majors, A NS MDX, and my A C automatic grinder http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8nurhcbXb0 (not me but a vid to show the grinder ) .... for espresso. Then there is the Bunn G92 H, NS MDC 64 and my Curtis GSG for general duty and a Solis 166 for travel duty, a couple no name hand grinders are mixed in there too.
Honestly, all I use every day is the AC automatic (It is just too nice to have it grind per dose, weigh and drop into my PF with just the touch of the PF to a micro switch.
These new grinders, while not in quite as bad of condition paint wise as the SJs in my SJ Hospital thread http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/machinemods/555826 but they are not .... ur.... like new either and they have a 1/4 inch thick layer of coffee goo in most of the coffee contact locations.
My vacation is going to take me by my sons navy base and one of his best friends is a CG member and I have got to know him as well. I gave him the SJ that was cleaned and painted in the above thread, he only took ownership of it about 2 weeks ago as he has just returned from a cruse to the M. E. I might cut him a great deal on one of the Majors without cleanup or paint as I just don't have the time to do it myself in the next two days. I kind of like the idea of having a pair of Majors on the counter but honestly I don't know why other than a pair of them, refinished and in top shape sitting there would look great. Good looking grinders on the counter is one thing but if I don't use them .... what good are they?
You can see I am having a lot of things bounce around inside the empty head of mine. I am pretty sure though, that I will sell all 3 SJs. These two are from the '90s and are the automatic doser models. The motors are strong and sounded great when I ran them. My third SJ is a newer style with the short foot on it rather than the longer feet on these grinders. It has a few paint scuffs as I have not refinished it but it runs outstanding and there is a max of about 100 # through the burrs. All the new grinders have not been looked at but based on the condition of the coffee goo coating every contact surface on them, I would guess they need burrs as well as a few other parts that all used grinders need to bring them up to snuff such as new feet or new power cords in addition to whatever other parts they need to be 100% operational and looking good.
My newer SJ is going to be a money looser for me. It is in great shape like I said but I paid top $ for it when I bought it several years ago. I have over $550 in it but today, the market will not bear that price. The others? well I don't know, it kind of ..... depends on what they need and if the buyer wants them to be repainted like in the linked thread. It takes about 8 hours to disassemble, clean, prep, paint and reassemble a SJ... give or take a little while waiting for parts to come in after being ordered, which can only happen after they have been disassembled and you can see what they really need.
