Espresso: My Pressi Twist
Posted Thu Jun 21, 2012, 7:18pm Subject: Grinder recommendation/ Help
I know this is quite the topic and I have read lots of opinions on this site and elsewhere. I posted a request for advice using the header "Grinder Recommendations for My Pressi twist" and to date there have been no replies. I am particularly interested in grinder recommendations from those of you who use the My Pressi. If you would be so kind, I would like you to search the aforementioned header to see what my questions are and offer me the benefit of your expertise. Thanks
It is good form to link to a referenced post and not ask people to find it for themselves.
The needs of a mypressi twist is no different than any other method of making espresso. You want a grinder to "do it all" as many people here do, the Vario is the normal advice when seeking to do all processes. You might be interested in the other espresso/general use from that manufacturer.
If you are using the pressurized basket then you don't need as good of a grind as you do if going with the unpressurized basket. Better is better of course but the same advice for espresso machines with pressurized PFs is the same here. Part of the problem with your post is that you did not give a budget for the grinder and I am not sure you are in the price range of the Vario. http://www.baratza.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?listcategories
Also check out the referb grinders there, good deals can be had as referb.
