I'm very excited today... I just bought a Promac MD-64 (rebadged Rancilio MD-50) off of eBay. Hoping that it's not in too bad of condition... also hope it doesn't gobble up my little Saeco Aroma... lol.
Thanks... Gonna check the burrs first thing when it gets here... already priced some. I figure I'll have to take it apart anyway to clean it... I'll know more next week.

The Beast is here! I got it via FedEx yesterday and finally got to try it out this afternoon... it works great! Now all I need to do is dial it in. The pulls are still too fast, but I left it on the setting it was on when it arrived... 15... next shot will be pulled on a setting of 10. So far I love it! Fast, smooth, quiet, and easy.

I am jealous you have a commercial grinder. But my postage stamp sized kitchen will not support it. One day I will remodel (to double the size of my tiny house, I keep buying those lotto tickets!) and have a wet bar set up and use it for a coffee shrine.

how are the shots coming along, Bill? Any tips and tricks?
i actually just picked up the younger brother of your Aroma last night from craigslist. Saeco Via Venezia. :P
i think i got it all cleaned up nice and attempted to pull a couple shots with the only beans i have. Some lightly roasted Panama Don K.
didnt end up too good. might have been because i was using the top of my deodorant stick cap as my tamper. haha
geez this thing is becoming a money pit too. i just purchased the naked portafilter from seattle coffee gear, a knockbox, cheapie 53mm tamper and shower head cleaning brush. now i'm tempted to modify the thing to add an OPV valve to get the pressure down closer to 9bar
