Grinder: Kitchen Aid Burr A-9
Posted Sat May 12, 2012, 4:44am Subject: Kitchen Aid A-9 Burr Grinder
I bought this used on craigslist. Worked 3x then bottom burr stopped spinning. Motor works fine. Took apart burr top area and cleaned everything until it shined. No coffee residue now (there was a lot). Bottom burr still not spinning. Wish I could see a photo of what it is supposed to look like. If I bang gently on counter, sometimes burr spins for a split second before stopping again. Shear pin seems fine but I have nothing to compare. Nothing came off that I noticed. Unless I drank it. There is a round loose piece at the bottom of the pin, under the part that spins up and down on the pin, that is not connected to anything and sits crooked - not sure this is correct. Looks like some fancy sort of washer, not completely closed circle. Wish I had an image or two of what it is supped to look like. Any suggestions are appreciated. I really liked it before it stopped working. Thank you Coffee Gods.
