You will love your vario I think.  I do.  It is very neat for a grinder and very low retention of grinds.  Their support is very good as well.

I could do what I did and made a google map. Pinpoint all the roasters around me and even in places I go to visit, like the coast and the big city.  Then when I get there I can look up what is close to me and pick up some coffee and I am keeping notes on what I like best.

If you enjoyed roasting many people here love that.  Also that guarantees fresh in just the right amount that you use.  I have too many good micro roasters around me to bother roasting and mail order widens that even more.  But I could see how roasting would be a great idea if I did not live in the middle of coffee roaster belt.
