Ok so got a smoking deal on a Major and thought i would give the doser thing another go. While i generally have less negative reaction really don't see that the doser is intrinsically any less clumpy than my Vario. There is no wire dealio on the front of my chute at the moment but that sort of supports my observation that the doser itself is no more or less fluffy.
Are their any adjustments etc that I am missing? The thing is bone stock, at the moment.
You know those people that want to tell you how to raise your kids but have none of their own? That is how i feel when someone with a kitchen appliance tells me how the merits or dis-merits of my machine or how to use it.

Congrats on the major! for me, the doser is an ease of use thing and it allows me to grind while doing other things and i find that it is much cleaner. without the doser I saw a bit more fluffy grounds but nothing that made much difference in the cup. I never saw large clumps with the doser though, some minor hills in the grind possibility but nothing that major however it was a LOT cleaner on the bench though!

Just an fyi I use the doser on my Super Jolly and yes, there's the occasional clump that measures about a fourth of an inch in diameter. And my double shots with my new Salvatore E61 Lever are loaded with crema and are often striped, depending on the length of the 'pull'.
