have the same burr set (6 coarse channels as opposed to 5 for the Tre Spade) but I got really confused after reading Jim Schulmanís comments about Isomacís inferior performance at the following link: Click Here (www.home-barista.com)
It seems to me that the only grinders which have Tre Spade burrs should be the La Pavoni PGC and the FACEM Il Macinino (similar to La Pavoni) with Isomac and Ascaso grinders sharing the same burrs. Please correct me If I have understood something wrong here.

Thank you again for all the effort you put for a such a comprehensive answer. I found also some older posts of yours here in CG relative to the discussion here. They were very informative too.
I did some searching regarding the Baratza Virtuozo and Preciso burrs and I think these should be classified into a different category as they have a larger diameter. They are 40mm whereas ascaso-type and Tre Spade burrs are 38mm.

Thanks for your kind words. You are correct of course about the Baratza Virtuoso burrs being a larger size burr set. I wanted to include the link since the shape is very similar to the Ascaso burrs. In fact the highly regarded 68mm conical burrs found in the Pharos hand grinder and some Large commercial conical espresso grinders have the same shape:
It is interesting that the 68mm conical is so highly regarded yet the same burr pattern when compressed to a smaller 38mm size becomes "unsuitable" for espresso. I question the validity of the theory made in the H-B thread you link to here:
