Long time lurker here, been enjoying the wealth of knowledge and the friendly community here. I finally registered to ask this question. I recently got a used Astoria-badged Mazzer Super Jolly. So far, it's a huge step above my Kitchen Aid pro-line burr grinder and I'm slowly learning the quirks of the machine. My problem is, I only put in enough beans (or maybe just a tad more) for my one double-shot but there are always left over beans that can't quite seem to make it down to the burrs to be ground.
I did a search as I thought I saw a post somewhere about this problem but over 4,000 posts came up and I gave up after the fourth page.
Is there a way to remedy this so all the beans get ground?

Not sure what you mean. All beans in the hopper should get ground. Some grounds will get stuck in the little exit chute that leads into doser. Is that what you're talking about?

Yes, grounds do get stuck in the exit chute into the doser but there always remains a bunch of beans in the area between the burrs and the lowest part of the hopper. I'm always expecting all the beans to be ground so the grinder stays on a lot longer than 10, 15 or even 30 seconds as I wait for the last beans to grind. Eventually, I just turn it off as those beans will never make their way down. My timer by the way is broken, I have to manually turn it off.

What I do is somewhat unorthodox. No hopper, just a 58 tamper. The beans go in, the tamper on top. After grinding, I brush out the chute and the space above the burrs, give it a few seconds for another grind, brush out the chute and proceed with the espresso making. Practical for single drinker.
