Wow, I really didn't expect to win the auction but finally did!
I won what seems to be like a very nice Mazzer Mestre grinder, for a total of $356 :) Hopper is missing, and don't have info on the burrs but it seems to be in very decent shape :)
I just can't wait to see how it fares!!! It is quite a big amount of money to pay for a grinder! Hopefully I won't be deceived... My first grinder aside from the manual PeDe.

all my excitement just shifted.... I just found out that I may not actually be getting a mazzer major as I thought but rather a SJ!! I based myself on this post here Click Here (www.home-barista.com) where someone said the Mazzer Mestre was a Major, however, after reading this post here http://coffeegeek.com/forums/espresso/grinders/381758 they come to the conclusion Mestre is only the place of fabrication and has nothing to do with the model :(
damn...if that really is so, it is not the deal I thought :|

yeah I'm actually still quite happy....but you know...thought it was a Major.....;) Maybe it still is, i don't know, i'm reading mixed opinions online, i guess I will see once it gets here and I check the burrs. At least a set of SJ burrs would be a bit cheaper...

Based on the height listed in the auction of 13" and the lack of vent holes on the side of the grinder I'd guess it's an SJ. I'm really happy with my SJ and wish you good luck with yours (assuming that's what it is).

Well then, a SJ it is :) I didn't get the steal i thought I was getting but its still alright. It will sure be an overmatch for my Mokita machine anyway :)

haha how about that ;) I somehow had the feeling there just HAD to be someone from this forum betting on that grinder!
I will for sure let you know how it works out. Right now my only fear is about the shipping. I'm actually in Canada so it has a long way to go, and I know how "careful" they sometimes are with these heavy packages...
