As far as I know, its lying by omission... As stated earlier it is quite obvious that a 220v unit wouldn't sell as easily as a 110v. I am surprised though if someone asked about that detail, usually questions like these are posted on the page for everyone to see? Or am I mistaken? I haven't bought that often on ebay but usually as soon as I sent a question to the seller it would appear on the page.
Anyhow I am waiting for an answer from the seller, hopefully if its indeed 220 then its not too late to retract my bid and get reimbursed...
If not, I have no clue what I am going to do. Putting it on sale back again will probably cost me at least 100$, probably 200$ with all the costs... then for that price maybe I should just buy a power converter, but I felt like the grinder was quite big enough without having any additional hardware to plug to it.
Also, anyone knows, if the voltage is 220, does that automatically mean the Frequency is 50hz like in europe, or would it still be 60hz? Because a voltage converter is ok for the power, but if the frequency is also different that its pointless.

If it's manufactured for N.American 220v as opposed to European 230v, it will expect 60Hz. In any event, motors such as these shouldn't be too worried by the frequency - they just spin a little faster using 60Hz than 50Hz (as you will see from Mazzer's own specifications).

I dont think the screw missing is TOO much to worry about.. When I was putting my doser back on from cleaning, I dropped the screw/bolt, so just used it without.. I ended up finding the bolt a few days later, but, while it was off, it didnt really move or anything.
The 2 screws holding it in through the bottom of the doser do a pretty good job of holding it in, and, since there is one screw there, I wouldnt worry too much about that.
What i would worry about it the possibility of 220v. Plugs looks like a standard 110v, so, see what happens..cold just be some confusion.
The LAST thing I would be worried about is that fact its a super jolly and not a major. Superjolly's are AWESOME grinders, and MANY cafe's use them as one of their main grinders, and at that price, still an awesome deal. When they're used, superjollys and majors go for very similiar prices.

well, I am still waiting for an answer from the seller for the voltage...the suspense is killing me! I indeed made up my mind over the fact that is was a SJ and not a Major. Actually I am sure a SJ will be more than enough for me, its just that I tricked myself in thinking it was a major after reading that post from the HB site.
Now I am trying to wrap my head around what to do if its 220 and if its already on its way... I've looked at a few voltage converters online, I'm sure I could find something to do the job, I guess I will have to think about it, it would kill me to have the grinder in front of me and not be able to use it...
Time will tell.... Thanks for all the replies so far.
By the way, that missing screw is somewhat standard? I could find at a local hardware store?

Yeah, the missing screw is a simple fix. Even if u cant find one that matches, you will e able to find one that will fit no prob. Its not like a special part.. The ones on mine are hex-head bolts.

Alright, I have a response. The guy says he plugged it into his outlet and its working fine, its a 110v cord. However it is written 220v on the bottom... but that may just be the stickers from Europe? He also says he didn't answer any questions to anyone about the voltage...
So he's a nice guy and leaves me the choice to go on or not with the transaction. Now I have to decide...220v on the bottom but works fine on 110v......hmm......

Well, you are right, now I can focus on the grinder itself! or anyway, I can focus on waiting for the grinder to arrive ;)
My guess is that its a wrong labeling, or maybe the grinder actually takes both 110 and 220...i know its normal for laptops and such to take both voltages/frequencies for when you travel between countries. Its reassuring to see on the link I just posted that some other people had what seems to be the same grinder working on 110v even though the bottom stamp says 220v.
