CAn I make the cunill tauro doserless.  I know I can remove the doser but is there a place to but a chute to dispense coffee downward.   Also it tends to clog up coming into doser.  Is this simply too fine of grind?  Tony

I am not familar with the Cunhill or what options are available for it.

I personally don't like dosers for home use.  Some dosers like the one on a Mazzer SJ sweeps fairly clean so If I am lucky enough to ever get an SJ I may leave the doser.

The one big advantage of a doser that I can see is that they have a metal floor which will help discharge the coffee grounds thereby giving less clumping.  It seems folks with doserless grinders complain a lot about clumping.  I get the idea you may already have a bit  of a static issue since you are complaining about grounds backing in the chute.

I have a Rocky which I have converted to doserless.  See it here: "I civilized my Rocky"

If this machine were to die and I were to get a new Rocky I would get the doser model and do as I did.  This approach gets around the static problem.  Just be sure to use a metalic canning funnel.

I believe this approach will be adaptable to your Cunhill.  Note that you can still get a grinder brush into the grounds chute.

With the conical bean hopper the piston like I use is out of the question, however I saw a small hand sink plunger at Home Depot which will work fine.

I bought a Mazzer mini timer/doser model two weeks ago.  I am delighted with the grinder capability. However, I am seeing the slight, minor drawback of the doser configuration and here's why:

I drink coffee in the morning. I am finding that grinding the right amount of coffee is a small pain.  I usually have some grinds left over which I use for my wife the next day <hehehe> or I toss out.  OTOH it would have been another $300 to get the MM doserless model. I would not spend more if I were to do it again though.

When it is out of warranty I will look to retrofitting a doserless conversion ...

Please take this as minor, minor criticism. So there's my complaint about doser.

Just weigh the beans before you load them into the grinder, POOF, there are now no left over grounds. This requires that you keep the grinder empty but that isn't a big deal for me. I have taken the hopper off my SJ and life is good.
